getting started

It seems crazy that Casey and I would be blogging since most of you know that we are technologically challenged, but we thought this was the best way to keep everyone filled in on our journey. For those of you we haven't spoken to in a long time, God has laid it on our hearts to adopt a little boy from Ethiopia. Since going to Ethiopia in October of 2006 God has continued to plant the seeds that have lead to this exciting decision. It is a long story [hence the 2 year time span] so we won't get into it right now, but we would love to talk with you about it if you are interested.

We have only just begun our paperwork through America World Adoption Agency [AWAA], so don't be expecting huge news any time soon. We are estimating that it will take around a year to a year and a half before we can bring our child back home. There will be many milestones in between and we are blessed to have you join us. There are a few things we would love for you to be praying with us about along the way:

  • For the family of the little boy God has chosen for us. It can not be an easy task to give up a child.
  • For Casey and I to be patient throughout this process.
  • That God would mold us into the parents He desires us to be.
