while taking a bath this week david asked the best question - "toes obey mommy?" i laughed at first but said, "yes, david's toes have to obey mommy." he proceed to ask the question with almost every body part, "knees obey?" "tummy obey?" etc. finally at the end of it i did the all encompassing - "every single piece of david has to obey mommy". and then the light bulb went on and i said, "and every piece of daddy, mommy and david has to obey God!"

i had never thought about it in such simple terms but the truth is there have been many times when my words obeyed God but my actions didn't. david has been an incredible teacher for me. his hunger for the truth forces me to look at myself. i am his mirror right now. what i do, he mimics. my mirror is jesus. what he does, i should do.
