week of celebration

the butler family has enjoyed a great week of celebration. we spent the weekend with uncle kyle and aunt amanda celebrating them buying their first house and landen's early birthday.

landen enjoyed his first cupcake and loved it. he is such a sweet and simple baby. it is clear he has more of daddy in him than mommy. i am grateful for his patience with an impatient mom this first year of life. after skipping "baby stuff" with david it was more difficult going backwards than i had anticipated. thankfully, God is always near, he has blessed me with incredible friends and entrusted me with boys that are quick to laugh and love. our next big celebration was david's re-adoption on tuesday the 24th.

after having david home for two years we are closing in on finishing his adoption. i was surprised at all the memories that came back just walking into the court room. we actually met our attorney, drew ihrig, for the first time at our second fundraiser [The Spud Bash]. grateful that we can now call him and his wife, jordan, friends. i remember the anxiousness of going to court with david in ethiopia and the relief that came when the woman in the window smiled at me when we walked up. for many reasons i didn't have the same anxiousness here in the states. what a wonderful week of great memories!
