graduation

my little brother, nolan, graduated from ozark christian college last saturday. it is crazy to think he is married now, graduating from college and going to have a baby in another month. i guess i still think of him as the 14 year old i left when i went to college. thankfully, he doesn't hold anything against me now that he's twice my size. nolan and whitney will be hanging out in joplin for at least one more year so that whitney can finish up her degree. for the long-term, nolan plans to head back near family to be a youth minister in one of the small remote towns in northern missouri. i guess we'll just have to wait and see if that is god's plan as well.

casey and i continue to trudge through paperwork. we finally received our certified copies of our birth certificates from iowa. so, little by little we are getting there. our fundraising is going amazing. the original goal was 20,000 and we are now down to 11,500 - so very close to half way. god is so good!!!! he has blessed us time and time again, yet we are still blown away by what he is doing to make this adoption happen. i [rande] have cried tears of joy and humility more in the last month than most likely in my entire life. when i kneel in reverence the words of gratitude never seem to be enough - tears are all the comes out of me.

Hey guys! I'm so excited that you guys are taking such a huge step in making the life of a child enriched and full. I've prayed for you and will continue. Adoption is a beautiful and wonderful process that does take a toll on your patience and trust. God is good. He always is.
