garage sale

it has been two weeks since we had our first big fundraising event... the garage sale! when we started organizing and planning for the big day the wednesday before Ryan, Belinda, Ellen and Casey & I were wondering what we had gotten into. as we unloaded box after box and bag after bag, secretly i think we each wanted to cry. where was it going to go? how much more could be coming if this is only wednesday? these were just a few of the questions racing through our minds. but God continued to show each of us the end result - a baby boy from ethiopia coming home to a family that desperately loves him even before we have met him.

in short, the garage sale was a huge success! people poured through the doors of Sunnybrook all morning long. boxes and bags were filled to the brim as people walked back to their cars. casey and i couldn't believe the things people bought. the items we knew would go within the first 10 minutes were the things that we had to beg people to take at the end. clearly we have not been to or worked a lot of garage sales.
we have included a few pictures of the big event for those of you who couldn't stop by and see the hoopla for yourselves. you had to be there to truly picture the magnitude but here is a glimpse of the lobby
