i know this may be hard for some of you to believe but i [rande] struggle picking out the right color to wear, buy or paint. i agonize over what color goes with my red hair - does it make me look even paler than normal? does it clash against the red? and on and on my mind goes. so it is no surprise that in the last 6 days i have sweated over what color of ribbon to put on my new travel tote that i got for David and even worse what color i will paint his bedroom.
thankfully, i have great girlfriends that recognize that my color gene is missing and have stepped in to help. my first intervention was last friday night. while everyone else was moving on to what creative way they could monogram their bags, i was still trying to decide between a black or chocolate bag [yes, it is sad]. although they did laugh a little at my struggles [out of love] they helped me create what i think is a pretty stinkin cute travel tote. when it arrives i will make sure and post a picture.
even worse than my struggle to create a bag, was my struggle to pick a paint color for David's bedroom. we had already picked out the bedding and gotten it from grandpa and grandma butler for christmas so i thought it would be a no-brainer kind of decision. wrong!!!!! i walked into the paint store with bedding in hand confident that i knew which shade of blue i wanted and then it happened. i was paralyzed by all the choices. they were all similar but not exact and then it accrued to me that i might not want it to be so matchy-matchy. i refused to let my fear of picking the wrong color stop me so i bought a couple of samples to try confident one would jump out. wrong, yet again!!! i sat in david's room two nights in a row just looking at the paint on the wall. neither jumped out which put me back to square one but this time i knew i need to call in backup. kylie was not only willing to come to my house to see the blues but in thirty minutes she told me exactly what to do. if i wanted him to be able to grow into the room then she pointed out one color of blue. if i wanted it to be more babyish than another color of blue was chosen. a decision was finally made and this weekend we will be painting. praise the lord.
there will be pictures of the very dramatic transformation so check back early next week.
