he played and played and played some more. he ate all sorts of foods that momma doesn't give him very often and stayed up way past his bedtime every night. so i have a very tired boy now. he is actually still sleeping this morning which is rare.
the fun really came when david and i took off to meet casey in kansas city [2.5 hours away from unionville] so he could help me drive home. we got to the south side of kansas city only to realize casey was not going to be able to meet us. so, i took a big breathe, prayed for strength and patience and off we went. david and i on the open road of I-35 for 6 more hours. he was wonderful. his sweet little voice would call from the back, "all done?" when he was reaching his breaking point. thankfully it was a gorgeous day so when we stopped i just took him to a grassy area and we ran for a little bit. i think we sang the itsy bitsy spider and the ABC's a million times. although we know more songs that is all he wanted to sing.
i was so proud of him. although i don't want to do it again for quite awhile i now know that david and i could do if we needed to.
