vacation

we got back from our first family vacation this week. casey was doing some work in missouri so he took a few days off and we traveled to see family. david and i spent a little time in the big U [unionville] with my parents while casey finished his work. then it was off to st. louis to see the middle butler boy and his adorable family.

david had many firsts over the vacation

• first four-wheeler ride with pa [my dad]
• first time sleeping in a sleeping bag - he has gotten too big [long may be a better term] for the pack-n-play
• first time to the zoo - he loved it
• first time to play in a sandbox
• first time to play in a sprinkler

personally my favorite was just being able to spend some time with my husband. casey works a lot of hours all year around but this is the official busy season so we don't see much of him. he works 7 days a week and those 7 days have lots of hours included. david and i both enjoyed having his help with meals and the constant running and playing that a 19 month old does. they laughed and played in ways only a father and son can. it was fun to watch.

i love my boys very much! i am so grateful for how God has created and molded our family.
