court closing...

after researching other blogs and websites we have determined that the ethiopian government will be closing August 7th - September 27th. they do this every year so it is certainly not a surprise and Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs are still processing referrals which is awesome [another 11 were referred last week making 22 for the month of june]. be in prayer for those families that just received their referrals because it would simplify things if they could pass court the first time and travel to receive their children before everything closes.

what does that mean for us? well, our paperwork left on 2.20.09 and the current wait time for a referral is 9-11 months which puts us in November. with the court closings we have to cut those months out completely from our count which then puts us in December/January. although we would love for it to be sooner we at least have a end point in our vision. the fun part is that because we have already been in this process for 16 months [yes, we will near 23 months in the end] our fingerprints and home study will need updating. i do not doubt that God could bring David to us before they expire but our past history indicates we need to be prepared for the long haul.
