butler family adventures: new and old

for the last few weeks i have been revisiting my journal, pictures and mental notes about our journey to pick up david. although i enjoy thinking back and seeing his progress, i miss some of the things we did in the beginning. the first visit we had with him was spent making any noise i could with my mouth but our common ground came with clicking. the sound your tongue makes when you press it against the top of your mouth and then release it. somewhere he had learned that so we would do it over and over again. he laughed and smiled at me like i was the silliest person he had ever met [and i may have been].

sadly we don't do our clicking competitions very often now a days. and our once kiss happy boy is becoming a huger instead. he still loves to be kissed, especially when he hurts something. he can now say, "all better" when we kiss away a hurt. he can even point to the very spot that needs the kiss. his words are becoming clearer and our ability to communicate pretty smooth.

he loves to laugh with or at casey and i. he fake laugh and smile are pretty cute. he has even started to tickle us but it is more like a pinch which makes it a little tougher to pretend to laugh. he made his first attempt at saying please this week which just thrilled me.

our days are spent outdoors most of the time which continues to take me back to the small strip of grass that we played on when we first met david. he was just learning to walk so we made lots of trips up and down that strip in his cute bare feet. now, he is running in his cute little bare feet all over our yard and house. we love this little boy!!!!!
